![]() Unfortunately, it runs 2.0.0 at less than 1 fps, so I'm stuck with 1.9.1 for now. My graphics card has OpenGL support, and has at least 300 MB of memory. 256MB of dedicated graphics memory will be more than adequate - many people run FlightGear happily on less. If you are going to buy a graphics card for running FlightGear, an NVIDIA GeForce card is recommended, as these tend to have better OpenGL support than AMD/ATI Radeon. If you don’t know what OpenGL is, the overview given at the OpenGL website One important prerequisite for running FlightGear is a graphics card whose driver supports OpenGL. Mark captainhepp Posts: 28 Joined: Mon 5:15 pm I did notice that all the other folks with the same problem all have ATI cards (or at least most of them). ATI has a messy driver install/uninstall system that has twice left me with no other option than Format C. Never tried running FlightGear under the ATI drivers. Had some major vertice bleeds/tears under the ATI driver that Omega fixed. Something that might be of interest is I just recently switched to Omega drivers for the video card. so I've already tried different resolutions and color depths. Then it tells me I'm not in multiplayer, Creating 3d noise Texture. I am getting an error msg in the command line.ĮRROR: ChooseMatchingPixelFormat() - Unable to choose the requested pixel format I do get a menu up top - which functions - but no sim. I installed FlightGear on my Windows machine (specs are above), go through the wizard Gui, launch the sim, to have it freeze while loading scenery. a Netbook running Linux Ubuntu.Īt any rate. The machine I was just talking about is what I'm typing on. the machine I'm running FlightGear on is Windows XP, those specs are above. So I'm trying out an open source Flight sim. Currently running version 9 still (10 got rid of all the special effects ). Not keen on upgrading to Home Premium, either, as Starter is already slow on this little thing. Thank you very much.Īt any rate I have a little Netbook I got recently that came with Windows 7 Starter. Rolled back to FS2004 where I can fly anywhere in the world at max settings and 30FPS. This laptop technically has just under double the "minimum" requirements for FSX. I have FSX, but not the money as yet for a machine to support it. I am a veteran Add-on Developer for Flight Sim 2004, so I'm not new to getting my hands dirty under the hood. I am running FlightGear 2.0 on Windows XP SP3 and while I've found the problem, it seems most folks just give up after 4-5 posts. I've been all over this forum looking for an answer for this.
